On this week’s SepulQuarta session Sepultura welcomes skate legends Steve Caballero, Bob Burnquist, Pedro Barros and Christian Hosoi for a Q&A with Andreas Kisser and Derrick Green. Also joining will be Oliver Percovich (Skateistan). Skateistan is an international non-profit organization that uses skateboarding and education to empower children in Afghanistan, Cambodia, and South Africa.

Derrick Green comments: “We are extremely excited to welcome skateboarding legends to our next Sepulquarta. Cristian Hosoi, Steve Caballero, and Pedro Barros. We look forward to hearing their stories and journeys through the love of skateboarding and connection with music. You don’t want to miss this!”

Andreas Kisser about the idea of the SepulQuarta sessions: “SepulQuarta was born out of the necessity to express ourselves in a different way since we’re all facing a new situation. We came with this idea still influenced by the concept of our last album 'Quadra' using geometry numerology and numbers. Wednesday which is the fourth day of the week was chosen for an event."

CONDOLENCE: SHOGO KUBO

 Pioneering skateboarder Shogo Kubo, 54, dies while paddle boarding alone in Hawaii

• Kubo, a married father, was pulled to shore by witnesses who saw him struggling in the water off the coast of Hawai'i Kai, Honolulu on Tuesday
• He could not be revived and was pronounced dead
• He had been an original member of the Zephyr surf shop's Z-Boys, which was formed in Venice, California in 1975
• The team are credited with inspiring a new wave of skateboarders with their never-before-seen tricks
• They starred in a 2001 documentary, which was turned into a 2005 movie starring Heath Ledger and Emile Hirsh, 'Lords of Dogtown'

Shogo Kubo, for those who do not know, was one of the most stylish and flowing pool and half pipe riders you'd ever see. He was reported died while paddle boarding by himself off the coast of Hawai'i Kai, Honolulu. Kubo, 54, passed away on Tuesday after witnesses saw him struggling in the water in an area known as 'Seconds' off Portlock Point and people swam out to bring him to the shore, authorities said.

Alhamdulillah, finally Joe Ipoh got married yesterday after Jumaat prayers.

The "akad nikah" was held in Surau Al-Malikus Salleh in Kampung Melayu Subang.

"Joe ipoh is like a big brother to me. Back then my mom always told him to look after me went we go out for skate. We are not just like brothers but also band mates, been playing music together but not as long as skate. Good old times....Anyway, i'm happy that Joe finally married. Yesterday Joe told me its like a dream that he got married. Well its a dream to all of us too. Every year when Joe come for raya to my parents house. My mom will always asked Joe - Bila nak kahwin Joe?. The same question every year but this time no more. Alhamdulillah. Barakallah Joe" - Your bro, your pal, your saksi - Boy Ipoh

TOM SIMS: R.I.P (PART 2 OF 2)

 Tom Sims, the founder of Sims Skateboards and World Champion skateboarder, passed away recently from an apparent heart attack. He was 62.

The Sims brand was one of the most respected through skateboarding’s early racing and park skating era, continued through the 80s and early 90s with pros like Christian Hosoi, Lester Kasai, Eric Nash and Jeff Phillips, and eventually crossed over with much success into snowboarding, helping to develop the activity through product innovation, riding, and promotion.

TOM SIMS: R.I.P (PART 1 OF 2)

Early this year we have legendary Larry Steveson (creator of kicktail and also 1st longboard) passed away. Yet few days ago we had another legend left us with tears, his name is Tom Sims, who has been skateboarding for over fifty years. He has accomplished many remarkable things and has been at the forefront of four major board sports: skateboarding, longboarding, snowboarding and wakeboarding. He is truly the godfather of action sports. Is he worth multi-millions? Hardly. But this has not dampened his stoke. Sims is a visionary who has never lost the love for riding. He’s not just lived life, he has embraced it. Tom Sims is not just the godfather of board sports. He is the embodiment of pure stoke. His passion has enabled hundreds of millions of others to enjoy the ride, too.

Tom Sims, founder of Sims skateboards and Sims snowboards passed away recently on September 12, 2012, at the age of 62 from an apparent heart attack. He is survived by his wife Hilary, sister Margie Sims Klinger of Santa Barbara, sons Tommy and Shane, daughter Sarah and step daughters Alexa and Kylie Wagner.

In 1969, Tom Sims improved the hell out of the Snurfer with his “ski-board” helping to pave the way for Snowboarding as we know it. He was a world champion skater in 1975 and a world champion snowboarder in 1983, and this led to him being James Bond’s primary stunt double in 1985 in the movie A View To Kill. After Burton recruited Craig Kelly, the Burton VS Sims war exploded, bringing snowboarding into the mainstream and blessing all of us with better technology and more choices.

Here are a few of the milestones that Tom Sims brought to life as we know it.

1. He created the first metal edged snowboard
2. He created the first snowboarding Half Pipe
3. He created the first freestyle snowboard
4. He created the first pro-model snowboard
5. He created the world’s first longboards for skateboarding in 1975.
