Allah reminds us in the Qur'an that these are precious days. Upon us are limited days with an extraordinary opportunity to reach out to Allah. Ramadan is when we ask Allah, in our hearts: "What can I do for you? You have given me everything. What can I do for you, my Lord?"
 
Remind yourself it’s a once in a year opportunity. For most of us, work, school or just about anything else becomes an excuse to wriggle us out of attending Taraweeh. The next time an excuse creeps into your mind, think to yourself – “It’s just once a year”. You may not get an opportunity to pray Taraweeh next year, so don’t give yourself excuses!

Fasting the month of Ramadan is not just about abstaining from food an drink. According to Imam Al Ghazali, for one to achieve the maximum spiritual benefit, it is imperative that one has an understanding of the inner dimensions of fasting…

CONDOLENCE: SHOGO KUBO

 Pioneering skateboarder Shogo Kubo, 54, dies while paddle boarding alone in Hawaii

• Kubo, a married father, was pulled to shore by witnesses who saw him struggling in the water off the coast of Hawai'i Kai, Honolulu on Tuesday
• He could not be revived and was pronounced dead
• He had been an original member of the Zephyr surf shop's Z-Boys, which was formed in Venice, California in 1975
• The team are credited with inspiring a new wave of skateboarders with their never-before-seen tricks
• They starred in a 2001 documentary, which was turned into a 2005 movie starring Heath Ledger and Emile Hirsh, 'Lords of Dogtown'

Shogo Kubo, for those who do not know, was one of the most stylish and flowing pool and half pipe riders you'd ever see. He was reported died while paddle boarding by himself off the coast of Hawai'i Kai, Honolulu. Kubo, 54, passed away on Tuesday after witnesses saw him struggling in the water in an area known as 'Seconds' off Portlock Point and people swam out to bring him to the shore, authorities said.

Pa’din Musa, our legendary street skater won another award at the Art of Speed Asia 2014. This time, his Project B, 1982 FXB HD Shovelhead won the honours for Best Open Class at Art of Speed. Last year Pa’din also won one of the category for the bike that he customized. Congratulations to Pa’din.

SAVE SUNGAI PETANI DIY SKATEPARK

There's no skatepark in Sungai Petani, thus skateboarders in Sungai Petani transformed an abandon basketball court into DIY Skateparks. They have been skating at the court for the past 2 years.

Earlier this month (June 2014), skateboarders from that community just been informed that the local authority going to demolished the DIY Park due to illegal constructions. The word spreads virally on social media and people were angry with the decision of local authority. Local authority has agree to postponed the process of demolishing the park until further notice (well it seems they already demolished it). Sungai Petani extreme sports community are now being called by the state government to have further discussion with regards to this matter this Friday with MB Kedah.
