PEGC - FREE SHUTTLE BUS

YES!! Free shuttle bus service for those wanted to go to the event at Putrajaya. Putrajaya Tourism Action Council (PTAC) will provide 2 buses limited to 70 passenger only (1st come 1st serve basis). The buses will leaves at 7.30am in the morning from Bukit Kiara Skatepark and return back from Putrajaya to Kiara at 6.30 pm. The same goes on the day after (Sunday). Have a nice trip!!!

LASER CUT SKATEBOARDS

Australian skateboard mag Refill has put together an interesting exhibition of laser engraved skateboards under the title Refill Seven. 80 artists; includes the famous Jim Phillips were asked to design each their deck, which were then produced in a limited edition of 50 copies each. Price? $500. Laser cutting is getting a lot of attention recently as one of the first digital fabrication technologies to become truly cheap and accessible. It can easily be used for “printing” images into unusual materials, or for constructing parts for complex forms. Usages include custom signage, jewelry design, models in paper or plastic etc. In terms of laser cutting used as an image medium, Refill Seven is one of the most interesting examples to date.

In other news, Bukit Kiara Skatepark is temporary closed for 2 days (today and tomorrow) due to "Sembelih Korban" next to the skatepark.

TREASURY SECRETARY TIM GEITHNER NOT A SKATER

The Wall Street Journal has set the record straight, incoming Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner is NOT a skateboarder. Yesterday a Fed spokesman said that Mr. Geithner doesn’t actively participate in skateboarding. Still the article mentioned the active skaters in public office in park heavy Portland, Oregon namely Tom Miller and Mayor-elect Sam Adams.

Still, it’s amazing that so many blogs and news agencies were interested in just the RUMOR that Geithner might have skated.

SK8OLOGY - FLOATING DECK DISPLAY

Speaking of Skateboard wraps the other day, here's something cool too. Sk8ology its new line of patent protected display products for the Skateboard industry. A display system that allows skateboard decks to be displayed on any vertical surface, allows skateboard decks to appear to be floating off the wall with no apparent hardware attached. This is the first time the action sports industry has a product that allows consumers to display their collectable decks in a museum quality manner.

Crazeecausa makes a huge come back to the local skate scene by having a new skateboard team. Jo-Epoh (Ipoh) currently rides for them (Crazee) & DTG clothing.
