CARVER SKATEBOARDS : SURF SKATE STYLE

These are not your ordinary old school / 80's retro / fish tail board. These are pure carving board called carver skateboards. The only different about carver is the front trucks would have to turn more than the back one in order to approach the turn dynamic of a Thruster surfboard.

It all started one quiet summer in Venice, California. Greg and Neil had been surfing all winter, and were pumped to surf the warm waters of the Breakwater in the long days of summertime, but it was flat as a puddle. Not even a longboard ripple to justify getting wet. So, like many generations before them, they took to the streets with skateboards in search of hills to surf. The historic neighborhoods of Venice and Santa Monica are a veritable skate park of steep alleys and banks, and as they dropped in on these asphalt waves they were struck with how unlike surfing it was. Sure, they sort of got a surf-like experience, as much as standing on a board and banking turns can provide, but they really missed the snap that a surfboard has, that crisp pivot you get at the tail that lets you really pump a wave for speed. Their skateboards felt stiff by comparison. But as they loosened the trucks, all they got was speed wobble, and the steepest hills became virtually un-skateable. Even with loose trucks, the dynamic of the turn was still all rail-to-rail, and picking up the nose in a tic-tac at high speed down a steep incline wasn't ideal.

LOCAL PRO: ALIF HADI HOST 24/7

Beside former 90's skateboarder and TV host Jimmy Shanley from Ipoh. Now we have another TV host skateboarder but from Johor; who was a former Olliecat rider and now a TV host for 24-7; a KRU TV production (with overall of 26 episodes). Skateboarders here called him Alif Chalmers; known for his technical combination skills on various local bowl competitions and mainly got on the top 10 rankings. Currently sponsored by Hellbent and Loop Distributions.

24-7 is a half an hour magazine program that potrays local artist giving you all the gist you need to know about them an also the latest infomration, suprised with fun and EXTREME activities.

CONVERSE: WHERE DO WE LAND?

After Thai Chi Tour video, once agan Patrick Wallner from Visual Travelling come out with another video called "Where Do We Land?"but this time first time on High Definition (HD) project with all spoken in Chinese in it.

The video consist of The Converse China skateboard team; Keng Qu, Thrasher, Xu Ying, Blackie, Dan Leung and Xiao Xing; ventured up north to give their neighbor, Mongolia, a week long visit! Besides filming skateboarding in Ulaanbaatar, the troupe journeyed through the chilly Gobi Desert via camels, stayed in traditional yurts and experienced some unwelcoming as well as sketchy situations while trying to just film some maneuvers on rough terrain.

- The competition will be divided up into 5 round , each round should be completed in less than 20 seconds

Flat Bar Contest (Best Trick) : Winner-$1,000 + Skate products

-All the competitors will be divided up into groups of 8-10, competition duration twill be based on the number of participants in the group , each participant has 1 minute to perform tricks , if there are 8 people in the group , it takes 8 minutes for the competition

Skate Park Contest (Best Trick) : Winner-$1,000 + Skate products

-Each participant has 10 minute to perform trick freely , judges will decide who goes in to the final round (Availability of final round will base on the number of competitors in first round)

-Final round : Each participant has 1 minute to perform trick , Participant who perform the best trick wins the contest

Ollie Contest : Winner-$1,000 + Skate products

-The take-off mark in the first round is 60cm , participant who fail to make it over is out of the competition

-The take-off mark in the second round is 70cm , each participant has 2 opportunities , if fail to make it is out the competition

-The take-off mark in the third round is 72cm , each participant has 2 opportunities , if any one make it , the mark will be adjusted 2cm higher than the previous mark , until some one wins the game

Game of S.K.A.T.E (Professionals) : Winner-$1,000 + Skate products

-S.K.A.T.E competition is only for skaters who have sponsors

-Participants draws to divided up into groups , winners advance to next round , until some one wins the game

Fun Box Contest (Best Trick)(Professionals excepted) : Winner-Skate products

-All the competitors will be divided up into groups of 4-6 , competition duration will be based on the number of participants in the group , each participant has 1 minute to perform tricks , if there are 5 people in the group , it takes 5 minutes for the competition

-Winner of each group goes into the final round

-Final Round : There are 10 rounds in the final , each participant has to finish up the trick in the 20 seconds
