TONY HAWK VISITS SKATEISTAN CAMBODIA

On November 28th, 2013, legendary professional skateboarder Tony Hawk visited Skateistan Cambodia (also visit Thailand). Tony met Skateistan staff and students, helped out with some classroom sessions, and blew everyone away with his impressive box of tricks. We would like to sincerely thank Tony and all the folks at the Tony Hawk Foundation for hooking this up - we had a blast!

FLORIDA OLD SCHOOL SKATER REVISIT MALAYSIA

Howard Montaque was here last week for the MotoGP and we had a great time skating, hanging out and jamming few days after the race. Anyway, who is Howard? Well he used to ride for Gullwing trucks and Foundation Skateboards back then (Here's the 2009 post to refresh your memory). By the way, its good to see him again and here's a footage (below) of last week session. Nothing much serious, just pushing, rolling, cruising and having fun.

Howard also planning to help the local scene especially in soft goods branding to sell them in the states. If anyone interested, send me your designs or catalogue and pricing to : boyipoh@gmail.com

FLORIDA OLD SCHOOL SKATER IN MALAYSIA

We have a very honorable guest skateboarder from Florida skated with us yesterday here in Shah Alam. His name is Howard Montaque, has been friends and contact with for the past 2 years. He used to be sponsored by Gullwing and also Foundation (back when they first started the company without having any pro model boards at that time). Howard is 42 years old and still taking part in contest. He got 2nd place 2 years ago in the 3rd Annual Binky's Beer Belly Bowl Jam in Tampa for 40 & up category; 5th Place during last year The Grind for Life Striling Skateboard Park Dunedin Contest #2, and more. Thanks for coming to Malaysia Howard, again thanks for sharing your experience and exchange opinons with us which we hope by posting about you here will inspired more older people like us and especially friends who used to skate with us back then ; )

DECENT HARDWARE IN MALAYSIA

Jonno, arrived in KL last Friday (2nd time, he visited here last year). We had a bowl session at S13 & PCP during the weekends recently. He's originally from Norwich, UK and now live in S.E Asia (mainly Thai & Indonesia). He owns a business designing specialist skateboard travel bag and shorts started in 2006 in Bali known as Decent Hardware. All are hand made in a family firm and exported around the world. Many skateboarders from around the world have been using it (damn i need to get one of that park bag). Jonno might be attending the Shifty Mag party on Wednesday and he will be leaving to Bali on the next day. We hope that all local skate friends and skate media can meet him for a chat and something useful for their magazine or business proposes, etc.
