TAIPING - GO SKATE DAY

Taiping GSD was a great success as were told by Mr. Golok; owner of Time Go Skateshop. Skaters from other states like Penang, Kedah, etc, joined them for the celebration. Even Pa'Din and Mariss Khan joined them too (look above pic). We, from skatemalaysia.com congrats Taiping skaters for being the major active scene in Perak. Go Skateboarding Day KL Report and Photos

Go Skateboarding Day ! Kuala Lumpur (21 June 2008)
So many skaters...So little time........
We met up at the curb in front of KLCC. Skaters started to arrive from around 3pm. At about 9pm we started to roll out all over Kuala Lumpur city area....Two skaters were caught by the security guards while we were crossing inside the KLCC park area....It was a bad idea, but somehow it was kind of fun........

It was a skateboarding history for Kuala Lumpur....About 50 or more skaters skating on the streets of Kuala Lumpur...Skateboarding is the best way to unite us. You can see the Malays, Chinese, Indians and other races skating that night in harmony.. There was no vibe. There was no hassle...Its weird how a wooden board and 4 wheels can unite us that way...we felt strong that night.. we felt united!

*Petronas wake up! and please built us a skatepark in KLCC Park!!!*

RAIN CITY GO SKATE DAY!!!

Another announcement on Go Skate Day. The guys from Taiping (Goofy Skateboards) is organizing a Go Skate Day event this Saturday too. It seems that Taiping scene is more active than the capitol city of Perak itself. Good job guys for keeping your scene going strong and alive. So skaters from Ipoh, Kuala Kangsar, Grik or those who's near by is welcome to join. They will have a BEST TRICK comp at Dataran Taman Tasik but before going there, please make sure you guys show up at Taiping's McD first for the skate marathon.

TAIPING MINI CONTEST & CLINIC - RESULTS

Pa'Din and Mariss were there giving the clinic session on Saturday (14th June) and we also heard that there was only a race competition during the next day. Yes a race against time something like the Death Race. The only difference, there was no cone and you can also push your board even after you have passed the starting point. But off course it would have been more fun if it was something like the Death Race at Skatelab.

We've got this info just few hours ago from Faiz of Malacca Extreme Sports Association (MESA). In conjunction of EURO 2008, a mini competition known as EURO Game of S.K.A.T.E will be slot in tomorrow night before the Euro match starts. Details is as follows:

Venue: Melaka Mall (in front of Hore-Hore Restaurant)

SHAH ALAM GO SKATE DAY UPDATES!!!

Ok guys, make sure you guys join this BIG GO SKATE DAY rally. The rally will begin from Dataran Shah Alam and skate till Shah Alam Sek 13 skatepark. So make sure you guys arrived at Dataran Shah Alam by 8.30am. The rally range will be within 5km.

DON'T WORRY!!! There will be some buses, lorries and even ambulance stand by. They will escort us together. So if you get tired, you can just get on the bus. (Ya adik-adik..jangan risau penat sebab ada bus, lori dan ambulan ikut bersama untuk rally dari Dataran Shah Alam hingga ke Skatepark Shah Alam. Jika penat, adik boleh tumpang naik kenderaan tersebut)

Food will be serve to everyone who participate. (Ya makan disediakan selepas itu)

Then noon we will have the tournamnet (Best trick @ the stairs and Game of SKATE)

Siapa layak dapat subsidi tunai?

* Harga sebenar petrol ialah RM3, tetapi kerana kerajaan memberi diskaun 30 sen, pengguna membayar RM2.70 seliter.
* Diskaun 30 sen diberi bagi setiap liter minyak. Jika harga minyak di pasaran dunia turun, penyelarasan akan dibuat sebulan sekali, tetapi kadar diskaun 30 sen itu akan tetap diberikan.
* Rebat tunai bahan api akan dibayar oleh kerajaan kepada pemilik kenderaan selepas mereka membayar cukai jalan.
* Bayaran tunai RM625 setahun diberikan kepada pemilik kenderaan persendirian berkapasiti enjin sehingga 2000cc serta trak pick up dan jip berkapasiti sehingga 2,500cc.
* Pemilik motosikal berkapasiti enjin sehingga 250cc pula mendapat bayaran tunai RM150 setahun.
* Cukai jalan dikurangkan sebanyak RM200 kepada pemilik kenderaan dan motosikal yang tidak tergolong dalam kategori itu.
* Pemilik motosikal berkapasiti enjin lebih 250cc mendapat pengurangan cukai jalan RM50.

INDY STAGE 10

If i had a chance to choose the best trucks in Malaysia market then it would be Indy. Why buy others when you have the best trucks in the world in your local skate store? I would rather buy the best trucks rather than choose the latest trend trucks in the latest market.

Heavy? Well is that your excuses? If everything on your skateboards were too light ain't that good either. Just look who rides for Indy; Koston, Howard, Haslam, Reynolds and many wellknown pro rider. Indy not just good for grinding or strong. It also have the best turning too.

Now they have the new stage 10 coming out. It looks like they reverted back to the stage 8 base. But kept most of the other Stage 9 changes (chromo axles, etc). Stage 9 is in the market and i hope they have this one for me to try out. - Boy Ipoh

RED BULL - POWER GRIND SKATE JAM

Red Bull is putting together a bash just for us. The POWER GRIND skate jam event isn’t just your usual Kiara skate competition, featuring a laid-back jam style format, the comp will be a lot mellower and relaxed. On top of that there’s gonna be live bands and indie flea market all day long - leading up to a bbq party later at night.
